Thingamejigs is, in spirit, a cabinet of curiosities maintained somewhere in the eastern counties by a proprietor whose name we have agreed not to print. The proprietor takes the long view on most things, has a discerning clientele, and is not, in temperament, inclined to explanation.

In actuality, Thingamejigs is a placeholder e-commerce site built to demonstrate the OwnYou attribution protocol. Nothing on this site is for sale. The listings are original prose; the provenance descriptions are theatrical. The prices are notional and would, if anyone tried to act on them, lead to nothing arriving.

We chose the cabinet-of-curiosities format because it offers a different shape of catalog to the news pages of our sister demo, the Royston Vasey Daily Echo. Where the Echo's pages carry articles and bylines, Thingamejigs carries listings, prices, and the kind of shipping note that does not appear on commercial sites that wish to be taken seriously. Both surfaces consume the OwnYou Publisher SDK identically — the demo's purpose is to show that the SDK does not care which sort of publisher uses it.
